Hotel Union Geiranger Bad & Spa

Our family room had a double bed and spacious bunk beds, and breakfast and dinner were included. We stayed two nights and had a fabulous time. The indoor pool and heated outdoor pool were a highlight, especially with that view of the waterfall and fjord. There was a good selection at breakfast, and dinner offered different choices each day. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

After a day of hiking, the dinner buffet was a real treat. The seafood was good and very fresh, especially the crabs and mussels, and there was plenty of dessert. I especially liked the crème brûlée and pear tart. Our room was tidy and soundproof, with a view toward the fjord, and the staff were welcoming and professional. Highly recommended.

The spa, hot tub, pool, and sauna all come with a gorgeous fjord view, and the lobby is lovely. Our room was comfortable, and the food, service, and amenities were all first class. I’ve seen complaints about the windows, but the latch works fine once you know how to use it. The place is clean and modern, with a great history. I think some of the complaints are silly. This place is a gem, and I’d recommend it anytime.

The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing, and I loved the burger with coleslaw at the restaurant. The massage and spa facilities were just as impressive. Some staff could sound blunt, but it came across as confidence in knowing their jobs, which I appreciated. When we checked out at 5 a.m. on 09/22/2025, the gentleman at the front desk gave us an alternate route to Bergen because the main road was closed. It involved two ferries that Google Maps didn’t show. His advice saved our trip back. Five stars for that alone.
