Ian has been hosting for a while and keeps a sweet travel book where past guests leave notes of appreciation, including people from Brazil, Israel, and Singapore. We had a great stay a few days ago. The host was welcoming, and the location is beautiful, just a few minutes from one of Geiranger’s best viewpoints.

Please avoid this place. The host cancelled my reservation, saying he couldn’t process the charge on my card. As other reviews mention, I found the cancellation process unpleasant and had to wait two days for it to be completed. The host doesn’t seem to know much about hospitality or how to handle a payment through booking.com. If your booking is cancelled, you could be left without time to find another place to stay.

My booking was cancelled without warning two weeks before our departure, putting our vacation at risk. The owner had tried to charge my card in advance, but there wasn’t money on it at the time. Instead of asking me to resolve it, he cancelled the reservation. I called to try to sort things out, but he complained about booking and was quite rude. He hung up while I was politely suggesting a possible solution, then stopped answering. Of course he didn’t have to accept my suggestion, but ending the call and going silent felt very strange. Looking at the reviews, this doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident. If you want confidence that you’ll have somewhere to stay after booking, I definitely can’t recommend this.

The staff were all lovely and very helpful, and we had a perfect stay. It’s a beautiful, very clean hotel with nice rooms in a gorgeous location. I can highly recommend it.
