Hotel Haugesund

We got great service when we called after booking the wrong date. A lovely person moved us to the same night at no extra charge, and Elisa was very kind, opening the restaurant after hours to get us coffee. We stayed one night in double room 401, with a double bed. For about 100$, the standard was right for this price range and even compared well with some pricier places I've stayed. Good value and excellent customer service. Hard to ask for more at that price.

Sure Hotel Haugesund was worn and dated, and the attempt to cover up the wear and tear was poorly done. Hotel prices in Haugesund in July felt too steep in general, and this place was far too expensive for what it offered. I hardly saw any staff, so it's difficult to judge them. The two things I can give it credit for are the location in the city and the cleanliness.

For the price, the room was excellent: double bed, sofa, TV, desk and chair, coffee, iron, hair dryer, and more. The bathroom was very clean. A note said toothbrushes and combs were available at reception. Breakfast and the free dinner were great, and I'd happily return.

There was no one staffing the hotel, and it felt unclean and unhygienic throughout. There was no Wi-Fi or hot water. The bathroom smelled terrible, with hair and dirt on the toilet, mold on the floor, and chunks of vomit on the wall. The room floor was just as bad, with visible clumps of dirt and hair. I had to clean it myself because walking on it was disgusting and I couldn't keep my shoes on all the time. Dust covered the light switch and tables, too. Breakfast was very basic, but honestly, touching anything there, let alone eating, felt awful. I can't see a reason to stay unless every other hotel is booked.
