Right on the waterfront, the hotel has a lovely spot, but the rooms feel dated and the furniture is quite worn. Breakfast was also really below standard. It seems the hotel's best days were a few years ago, and there's a lot of renovation needed. A decent breakfast shouldn't be hard to sort out.

There are swans of the hotel's own that you can feed leftover bread to, which is a nice touch. Holmestrand «city» is about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel sits by the sea in a great location, and some rooms have kitchenettes. It feels like a typical conference hotel, with limited offerings.

There was a large function on, so the restaurant couldn't offer its full lunch menu. What we did get was excellent, famous open-top sandwiches and pizzas, served attentively.

Right by the water and across from the train station, the hotel has a great location. Our room was a good size, had all the amenities, and looked out over the fjord. It was very quiet during Easter week.
