My girlfriend and I booked two nights at the Thon Hotel after seeing the breakfast and views online. We just wanted a little getaway and time to relax. Our first room was okay, but we couldn't get the Chrome Cast to work. Reception gave us an instruction leaflet, and when it still wasn't working an hour later, we went back down. They surprised us by moving us to a much nicer room, with a lovely view and a Chrome Cast that finally worked. I think the off-season timing may have helped with the upgrade. We were much more comfortable there, and breakfast lived up to expectations for a British person who loves a big breakfast. Next time we'll book one of the better rooms from the start, as I think the extra money is well spent. Really great service, 10/10, would recommend.

Breakfast starts early and has a good range, though most of the hot food was only lukewarm even right at opening. The room was spacious, with a big desk for work, and everything was clean. We asked for extra hangers and staff brought them quickly. The electricity seemed unreliable: a device that normally charges in two hours took all night. It's a very quiet location, which also means there's not much nearby, but the free harbor ferry stops about a five-minute walk from the hotel.

For the scenery, the included breakfast is worth the price, even if the hotel feels expensive. Rooms are somewhere between small and large, and everything is at an essential level. It's nearly full during the summer holidays, so having this hotel here seems like a wise investment for the Thon hotel group.

The dining room has nice water views, and the hotel is right on the waterfront. A couple of restaurants are within walking distance. Check whether an event is on, though, because otherwise there can be a lot of noise.

The breakfast has a fantastic view and is excellent. There are free parking spaces and charging points, and it's a short walk to the free ferry that goes to Kristiansund's four islands. A great place to stay in Kristiansund.
