We’ll remember the meals most: the breakfast came with lovely fjord views, and dinner in the cozy restaurant was full of flavor and made with local ingredients. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and right by the water. A couple of things felt odd at this price, though. Pool towels cost extra, and the bathrooms only had soap, with no shampoo, shower gel, or body lotion. Bring your own. The food and scenery made the stay memorable, though some amenities could better match the standard.

Right in the city center and just across from the fjord, the hotel was easy to get around from and had plenty of parking. Our room was simple but comfortable. We liked the breakfast buffet, and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs while I was pregnant.

Breakfast was great, though our superior family room felt a bit impersonal and didn’t offer much of a view. The pillows were lumpy and the covers heavy. There was only soap in the bathroom, and pool access wasn’t included because we booked through a different site. You’d think that wouldn’t matter. Maybe we expected too much.

The breakfast was a real feast, and the staff were so nice. The views and location are breathtaking, too. We visited in August and had to pay for pool access, which was the one downside. The facility doesn’t open until 11, either, which is a strange start time if you want to get in a proper swim workout.

The soundproofing is fantastic. You can see the river from the balcony, and it’s loud when the door is open, but once you close it you can’t hear it at all. Everything was clean and fresh, and I slept so well I felt better the next day.
