The room was clean and comfortable, and about the size of a regular hotel room in Norway. It was a historic building that used to be a busy motel before traffic was redirected to the new highway. Good enough for an overnight stop. This may be the cheapest hotel near Kristiansand if you bring your own bed linen and towels. The booking-site price assumes you have those, or a sleeping bag, with you. Our three-person room in October 2019 cost 550 Kr, but renting sheets and towels brought it to 750 Kr. We brought our own linen, but still needed toilet rolls from reception. There's no breakfast, just coffee and a dining room where you can eat your own food. IKEA is another option for breakfast, and opens at 10:00 Mon - Sat.

Only a place to consider if you're desperate for somewhere to sleep. They said coffee and tea were provided, but that wasn't true. They also said pets were allowed without telling us about the extra fee, and the bathroom sink leaked.

For a nice price, we got a clean place that was big enough for a family. The bathroom was clean, which mattered most, though it definitely wasn't 14sqm 😂🤣. I was disappointed that the kitchen facilities weren't available: there is a kitchen, but it was closed and the dishwasher was gone. We brought our own bed linen, but hadn't thought about the mattresses being wide. The receptionist wasn't there when we arrived, even though we'd emailed our arrival time. We waited a good 30 minutes. He was pleasant and smiling when he came, though. All in all, a good stay for the price.
