Scandic Victoria

Breakfast was the highlight of every morning: superb food, attentive staff, and a lovely atmosphere. I'd come back just for that. The hotel itself has a mix of upscale and trendy budget feel. My room was spacious but simply furnished, and the small reception area had an unpleasant touristy vibe. You have to request room service online, but they ignored my request.

The room stayed freezing despite repeated attempts to adjust the thermostat, and the sofa bed had been pulled out and made without us asking, making it awkward to move around. There was no hand or body lotion in the bathroom, just an empty wall dispenser. The mini fridge also hadn't been cleaned and still had an empty water bottle from the previous guest, which made me question housekeeping. Before we arrived, even a simple booking change was difficult, with calls transferred several times, dead numbers, and staff insisting the booking didn't exist. During our two-day stay we spoke three times with two different receptionists about a payment entry problem caused on the hotel's end. They were argumentative and restrictive instead of checking the booking history or documents, even though we were Scandic True Friend guests on a reputable corporate booking. For such a central, visitor-friendly hotel, I expected much better. The service and maintenance problems didn't meet the standards I associate with this hotel or the Scandic brand.

Everything was spot on, from the clean, comfortable, good-looking rooms to the modern, spotless bathroom. The breakfast was outstanding. Right in the center of Oslo, the hotel puts everything within walking distance. Highly recommended.

We were right next to the Christmas markets, and the location made it easy to explore Oslo. The room was beautiful, the hotel very clean, and the bed super comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely book again!
