Hotel Wassilioff - Unike Hoteller

In Stavern, they serve a fantastic Sunday buffet, except on some special holidays. For kr.395 per person, you get one drink of your choice, plus seafood, fish, meat, salads, desserts, and coffee or tea. The food was delicious and the service nice. It's worth it.

The town was nice and quiet while I was there, and this hotel is a good choice for a short visit. It's in a very nice historic building, though the rooms are very small, so I wouldn't want to stay more than two nights. The door uses a real key, which was interesting since I haven't used one for anything in years.

The room looked out onto the trash behind the hotel, and the hallway had a strong sewer smell. Breakfast was on the level of a 1-star hotel. Severely disappointing. I'd tell people to keep driving and find somewhere else. A camping hut would be better than this hotel.

We had a lovely stay, helped along by the clean hotel, central location in this small town, and a suuuper comfy bed. The staff were nice and helpful, and let us check in three hours early, which was a huge help since our plane arrived early in the morning. I was surprised this is rated as a 4-star hotel. I'd expected a more premium look and feel. The clogged toilets in the lobby and the tacky historic style felt outdated. Most of my stars are for the staff, cleanliness and location.
