The service was perfect, and so were the rooms, location, and dinner. Just perfect!

Dinner was good and worth trying, though it wasn't among the best we had in the area. The place itself is absolutely enchanting and the experience was splendid, but I wouldn't recommend staying more than 1-2 nights. The rooms are an immersive glimpse into the past, but they're pretty uncomfortable and expensive. Sleeping in a stable is fun for a night, but after four nights like we did, it can get unpleasant.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and breakfast was the best we had in three weeks in Norway. There was lots of choice, with a varied spread and local produce where possible. We stayed in the School House, which was quite small, though more spacious rooms are available. It's a historic hotel, and there's plenty to read about its history in the main building. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant, but tried one of the entrees and it was fantastic. The Owner/Chef really knows how to put a meal together.

Breakfast was wonderful, and after reading reviews we decided to have dinner here too. We can confirm that at least one dinner is 100% worth it. The chef was phenomenal. Everyone on staff was super friendly from the moment we arrived, and the service was exceptional. We were traveling with our pup and appreciated having a dog-friendly room. The hotel was comfortable and cosy, with a luxury feel. We highly recommend it!

From the road, it might look like an anonymous place you'd just pass by, but staying there could surprise you. It's older than most of us and still feels authentic, with some modern touches, including a really nice bathroom with a bathtub. You can look at old photos in the lounge or enjoy a local beer outside. The staff were friendly, and dinner and wine were really good. We'll be back!
