The sauna has a brilliant view over the fjord, and the setup downstairs works well for groups sharing several apartments. There’s room for everyone to eat together, plus a well-equipped boot room with dryers and space for skis and skins. We’ve just come back from a week of ski touring and found the apartments ideal for a group. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, and each flat has a generous shared living area. Communication was handled well, and it felt like good value. We also hired Catalin as our guide. He was great to work with, kept us safe, and made sure we had a good time. His flexible, can-do approach paid off on a very windy day: while others stayed off the skis, he found us a sheltered spot. When the wind eased, we were perfectly placed to head for the summit.

The only reason I can’t give this five stars is the loud two-stroke motorcycle noise from the parking lot at midnight on both nights. Bring earplugs. Otherwise, it was great. The rooms are comically spacious, and the bathroom could practically fit a double bed. There’s plenty of room to spread out with your travel companions. Grab a coffee, sit on the balcony, and watch the tide roll in by the dock.

Be cautious about booking tours here. A couple of years ago, we booked one, but nobody picked us up at the agreed point. We asked for a refund, and it wasn’t a small amount, but our emails and calls went unanswered. It spoiled our time in this beautiful natural region.
