The terrace is a lovely extra, though winter weather makes it less enjoyable. We spent five nights at Bunks at Rode in a private room, and felt we got very good value for the price. The place was clean throughout, from the sheets, bed, bathroom and toilet to the small kitchenette, which had everything we needed. The whole building was consistently tidy too. Our bed was comfortable, the private bathroom was modern and practical, and the room lighting felt both cozy and useful. I also liked the thoughtful, cohesive design and the way the lighting worked throughout the building. Staff were warm, polite and ready to help. Self check-in and check-out went smoothly, and reception staff were available if we wanted personal help. Bunks at Rode offers both private and shared rooms. For Grünerløkka and Oslo, the price felt fair for the clean, comfortable room and good service. I’d gladly return and recommend it to others visiting Oslo. This review is based on my first-hand stay.

The heated shower floor was a great detail. There’s also a dining room, small kitchen, bar and even a cinema. It’s clean and well organized, with friendly service, and the price seems reasonable for the quality.

Getting around was easy, and it’s a great neighbourhood, with everything just a short tram ride away. My single room was lovely, warm and really clean, with a cozy bed and a kitchenette I liked. The bar on the 2nd floor was a nice, relaxing spot too. I loved staying here and would come back.

The hosts put on evening activities in the common area, like having drinks and painting together. The place was very clean, including the rooms and bathroom, and each bunk had a secure locker. Getting checked in was quick and straightforward. The instructions, rules and etiquette were posted around the building, which made it easy to find your way and settle in. There are good connections to the rest of town nearby. I’d fully recommend it for a stay in Oslo and would return.

The rooftop terrace is a lovely bonus, and the staff were friendly. Everything was spotless. I was really happy staying at Bunks at Rode. It’s a modern hostel with quirky touches in the decor and facilities. I liked having the restroom facilities outside the rooms, and I liked the rooms themselves too. Definitely recommended for hostel-goers!
