HI Oslo Haraldsheim - Hostel

The hilltop setting had lovely views, and we felt very safe there. I went with a friend, and the hostel worked really well for us. It takes a bus or tram to get there from the central station, but the 24-hour pass lets you ride around the city too, so the trip was worth it. Our room was very clean, with fresh bed linen and towels. The bathroom had soap and everything else except a toothbrush and toothpaste. Breakfast was really good, and the shared kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The staff were polite. Such a beautiful, clean place to stay.

Breakfast came with the stay. It was simple, but enough to get the day started. I liked the clean, bright bathroom and noticed its unusual hanging hooks. The hotel is a little way from the city center, though public transport makes it easy to reach, and the scenery on the way is beautiful. A pleasant, relaxing stay.

The hostel kitchen was the best I've seen so far, with everything you could need, and the facilities overall were great. Breakfast was really good and had plenty of choice. The ride into Oslo City centre is by metro, with a bit of a hike between the station and the hostel. The neighbourhood itself felt very cool and secure.

I paid 481 nok for one night in a female dorm. The varied breakfast was good, and I really enjoyed it. There was also a pleasant outdoor seating area with a chess board, plus a large kitchen for storing or cooking food. The toilets were clean. The sleeping area was cramped, with hardly any floor space for belongings. Half the shower cubicle doors were broken, and the shared bathroom had just one sink. My towel wasn't clean, and my friend got a moldy cover. Between that and the bathroom problems, staying longer would have been difficult.
