K7 Hotel Oslo

The staff were nice and around whenever we needed them. Our bunk bed room was small, but it worked fine. The shower was roomy and did the job despite the weak pressure. The kitchen was very tiny, with only a few utensils but lots of plates. People left dirty things in the sink even though there's a dishwasher. That's on the guests, though, and the hostel has cleaners.

The location made it easy to walk to the harbour and other sights, and the main train station was about 10-15 minutes away on foot. Staff were helpful, and getting an electronic key before arrival was reassuring since we got in late. The room was basic but clean and spacious, with a good shower, heated floor (!), and a lovely view over the rooftops.

I would like to stay here again. The reception and the team replying on booking were great and helped with anything. The room floor was dusty and dirty, which I noticed from the lower bunk, and they forgot a pillow cover, but I sorted that out myself. The kitchen was unfortunately the worst part, though that's because of the guests, not the hostel, so I won't comment on it. Thank you.

The hostel and rooms are new, and there's space in the hall to sit and work at a computer. The rooms were quiet, though nearby guests sometimes made noise. It's about a 10-minute walk to the center, but I stayed in a four-bed dorm for two weeks and found it cramped, with just one chair. There are lockers, but you need to bring your own padlock. Cleanliness was the worst part. They cleaned the room only about once a week, and when a new guest arrived they just made the bed. They left the previous tenant's dirt there. They should clean the room, not only change the sheets. Having your bed made cost 100 krones, and fresh towels cost another 100 krones. The shared kitchen was also cleaned only once a week. Sometimes the trash bins stayed full until the next cleaning. The elevator worked on and off, and I got stuck in it once. Breakfast wasn't included and cost 100 krones. They gave you some yogurts and other food, and you could buy coffee from the machines.
