The Apartments company - The Sweet

I came to Norway for the first time to see my daughter, and the photos hid how awful this two-bedroom apartment really was. The worst part was that there was nobody to contact about getting even the basics fixed. Once you’ve paid, you’re left to put up with it.

It was unsettling to find that someone had apparently entered our room and used the kitchen while we were out. The hotel said no cleaning or other work had taken place, but they couldn’t access camera footage or door lock records. They said they’d look into it and get back to us. Three days passed and we still hadn’t heard anything. It felt very disturbing that complete strangers could get into the room, with no help from the hotel. The room itself was worn and had peeling paint. There was no coffee machine in the room, and the lounge one didn’t work. The toilet’s glass door had a one-centimeter gap, which left very little privacy.

The rooms were only so-so clean, and there was mold in the shower. For three of our four nights, there was partying upstairs. We called the so-called service eight times over three nights and found them completely unfriendly. In the end we called the police just to get a few hours of sleep. With no staff on site at all, the high price really wasn’t justified. If the owner doesn’t refund us, we’ll take this up with our lawyers.

We booked the two-bedroom apartment OJ409 for three nights, with two more nights still to come, but the first night was really bad. The TV had no Netflix, and Chromecast and YouTube wouldn’t work, so it was no use to foreigners like us. There was no sofa table, which made such a big apartment impractical. One bedroom door was broken and wouldn’t close, and with no curtain, light and noise came in all night. I knew there was only one bathroom, tucked into the small bedroom in the corner, but it was still very uncomfortable. There were plenty of other bad details too. It’s a large apartment with a poor layout. The setup felt like it had been prepared carelessly and superficially. Don’t be fooled by the photos. Avoid it.
