March 2026, Room 8. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were great, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was great too, and the sauna, small gym, and ski store were excellent. There was a lovely fire in the foyer. The bathroom fan didn't seem to work, though. The ski-in route is a very steep, narrow, icy walkway, so it felt treacherous and not suited to beginners. We didn't get to ski out. Children running along the corridors made it hard to sleep, since this old building has suspended timber floors and you hear every footstep. Transfers for pickup aren't included in the price, so check that before asking. For bus times, download ENtur to see live schedules. We found out later that buses are free with a ski pass, and they seemed to run hourly. It's about a 20-minute downhill walk to Spar and the restaurants.

The setting in the beautiful hotel made the evening feel extra special, and the service was warm and attentive. They change the menu regularly, and this restaurant is a real gem for anyone who enjoys good food. We started with a tasty soup with salmon, crayfish tails, and julienne vegetables. Then came perfectly roasted veal from Nermo farm with parsnip, carrots, broccolini, red wine sauce, and potato fondant. For dessert, the caramel pudding with buttermilk sauce and fresh raspberries from Moe Gard, a nearby farm, was delightful. Everything was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and made with local, seasonal ingredients. We had a wonderful dinner today and highly recommend it for a memorable meal.

We weren't staying at the hotel, but stopped in to play the miniature golf course and have dinner. The course was such a fun surprise: it's played on real grass, without the usual ramps, walls, or artificial turf, and we had a blast over all 18 holes. When we checked in to play, the hotel offered an all-you-can-eat barbecue made with local products. It was probably the best meal we had during our two weeks in Norway. The hotel and golf course were a great find, so stop by if you get the chance.

This charming hotel feels full of history, and the atmosphere made me feel at home without the responsibilities. It's the most pleasant hotel stay I've had in at least ten years, and I nearly gave it a perfect score. The staff were excellent, and the food and drinks were outstanding. I'd recommend it to everyone!
