Skillevollen Motell

We stopped for one night before driving to another city and were pleasantly surprised by the price, about 900 kr. It wasn't expensive, and we got a pretty good room with a large TV, refrigerator and soft bed. The toilet was very well soundproofed. Breakfast starts at 07:30, and we liked it. Good food for the nightly price. We recommend staying here.

A cosy, simple place with helpful staff. Breakfast was basic, with cold cuts and boiled eggs, and we're happy with our stay. It's right by the ice skating rink. There was a smell in the corridor by my children's room, and the family room was very small, so it was lucky we'd booked an extra room. The staff kindly offered to move us to a bigger, better cabin the next day, but we stayed put since we were only there for a few nights.

The place was quiet, but the kitchen was dirty and poorly maintained. The rooms weren't spacious, though the linen seemed relatively fresh. Check-in was a mess: nobody met us, and a sleepy man reluctantly explained by phone where to find the key and room number. When I came to pay in the morning, reception was empty again. A young cleaner noticed me after I asked who I should pay. He got flustered and called someone, then told me cards weren't accepted. My options, he said, were cash or some local online system I didn't have, so they told me to find an ATM. I got upset and made a scene. After that, they took me to a closed room, brought out a card machine, and my card payment went through. That left me with the impression they might be avoiding taxes, and that the tax agency hadn't visited in a while. The staff were rude and uncultured, people from the East apparently used to different rules at home, and I felt they were deceiving both the state and guests. I don't recommend it.

A great motel at a fair price, with everything we needed. There's a shared kitchen, laundry washer and tumble drier, plus a common room with free coffee and fruit. Our room was small but clean and had all the essentials.
