Sure Hotel by Best Western Ole Tobias

I booked the wrong hotel and ended up here. It was pretty old and worn, and not really my style. But the young woman at the front desk did her best to make us comfortable. At times she struggled to help because she clearly hadn't been fully trained for her duties. That's poor management, and not her fault. For example, some guests asked to borrow bicycles, as advertised, to ride around the city. She didn't know about them, so they had to walk. I also asked for a key to the Stamina gym. At first she said it was closed, even though the hotel advertises it as open almost all the time. She tried contacting other staff without success, but eventually figured it out and I got to use the gym. Again, that wasn't her fault. She hadn't been trained, which is understandable during the summer period. There were only two things I could eat at breakfast. It wasn't a big spread, but the hotel isn't big either, so no worries. Small families might enjoy staying here, but it didn't suit my business trip.

Breakfast was really good, and there’s a spot to park motorcycles. A nice little hotel, recommended.

The self-serve waffle station was a nice touch. Breakfast was pretty basic, with scrambled eggs as the only hot option, though they tasted good. The bread was fresh, but supplies were running low later on. The room was alright, but the mismatched furniture and carpets looked worn. The two single beds pushed together were okay, though I worried about slipping into the gap. The bathroom was the real problem. The folding glass shower doors didn’t fit: they hit the toilet and light fixtures when you tried to close them, and wouldn’t open beyond the closed position. Getting in meant stepping over the toilet or squeezing between the sink and door, then squeezing past the other door too. It’s a difficult fit for an adult.

Downstairs, there are hot waffles in a really cool dining area. My room was very clean, and the shower was excellent. It’s a genuinely relaxing place, and the staff are kind, sharp, and attentive.
