It was a good stay, though the rooms could use kettles and tea bags, larger towels, and a towel for the bathroom floor. There’s a machine for booking taxis, but be careful: you just enter your number and they come. If you think it hasn’t worked and try again, you’ll get extra taxis, and each will ask you for €16. There’s no way to cancel once they’re booked 😬

I’d suggest getting breakfast before 8:00 AM, since the dining area is small and seats can be hard to find. The hotel seems busy even on a regular weekday. There wasn’t a huge selection, but everything tasted good and smelled fresh, and I enjoyed the coffee. My room on the third floor faced the street, with no noise coming in from outside. I could hear quite a bit from the room above, though. The room was tidy and spacious enough, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel’s funky style works to some extent, but it could use some overdue updates. At reception, a cheerful young man greeted me warmly and answered all my questions kindly. The shower had clean, warm water, with good pressure and temperature. There’s a decent area by reception to relax in the evening if your room feels cramped. I’d recommend the hotel for solo travellers or couples, but not families.

The location is the one thing I liked. There are plenty of other hotels nearby, and for this price I’d pick somewhere else next time. The place tries hard to look cool and exclusive with flashy lights, but the materials feel really cheap, and it costs far too much for what you get. Things are already breaking: I couldn’t turn off my room light properly, and the toilet lid was loose. When we asked for it to be fixed, they broke it completely. Breakfast was really disappointing, with hardly any choices and food that felt cheap. The plates, glasses, and cutlery were tiny too. Breakfast staff were rude, and when some kids wanted a second round, they were told no. Check-in is self-service, and late check-out costs extra 🙄. There was only one uncomfortable wooden chair in the room, so you’re basically left sitting in the lobby to relax. The old, sagging bed kept pulling me into the middle all night.

The rooms are small but decent, and breakfast is good. The location is wonderful, with restaurants, shops, and the railway station close by. The nearby cruise terminal is a lovely place to walk, with several restaurants and a good atmosphere.
