We had to check in over the phone, as there wasn't much staff around. The tents are roomy and feel romantic, especially for couples, though a few people might find the nights chilly. Still, staying beside that little stream in such a lovely spot made for a rustic getaway.

The facilities really made this place stand out: a big, modern shared kitchen with space to eat or hang out when the weather turns bad, plus clean, up-to-date toilets and showers and laundry. The staff were lovely and pointed us toward local fishing spots. We rented a little hut for a very reasonable price. It's basic but works well. The setting wasn't the prettiest we'd seen, though it wasn't ugly either. One of the best campgrounds I've come across, and I'd absolutely recommend it.
The room stayed bitterly cold even with every heater running, and there was no hot water. The kitchen had hardly any utensils, not even a toaster. The area itself is lovely, but the accommodation was a letdown. We had planned to book a cottage online, then chose to walk in, and the price was nearly twice as much. The fireplaces shown in the online listing weren't there. When we asked about switching to a cottage with one, we were told the fireplaces “don't work.” Then they shouldn't be advertised. These are very bare-bones rooms for such a high price.
There's no TV, but our cabin was comfortable and had a fireplace, just right for relaxing. The staff were really friendly, and you can rent mountain bikes or canoes, or go mountain guiding. If you're after a fancy five-star hotel, this probably isn't for you. For getting outdoors, clearing your head, and unwinding, though, the place feels idyllic. I highly recommend it. You can set off hiking right from the property, and there's also a cool mountain bike trail down the "Knappen" mountain. The cabins and sanitary facilities are very good, and the owners are super nice. Best place to stay in Rondane.
