Getting to the ski school, rental shop, and lifts is easy. It’s not ski-in, ski-out, though the lockers with boot dryers are excellent. The public rooms have plenty of space, with fireplaces that make them feel cosy, and there are excellent dining options. There’s a small indoor spa with a good pool, plus an amazing floating sauna on the lake. My room was a little small and had nowhere to sit, and it was missing basic tea and coffee making facilities. Still, it felt properly cosy, the views were stunning, and the in-room tech was good.

There was a lot of fresh snow yesterday and overnight, but the resort didn’t groom any of the trails. That made things difficult for skiers who couldn’t manage ungroomed runs. Get the machines out there!

The food was a bit pricey, but its quality was top notch. The mountain view was beautiful, and the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and cold dip were phenomenal. Such a magical stay, and a great weekend getaway for sure!

At checkout we were billed for breakfast every day, even though we hadn’t eaten it. The hotel doesn’t check room numbers at the buffet, and when we asked for a refund, the concierge refused, saying it would be “our word against theirs.” We’d prepaid for the room, and nobody told us during booking or check-in how breakfast worked or that we’d be charged whether we ate it or not. It’s really disappointing that the hotel’s poor communication ended up costing guests money. They need to be much clearer about these charges. I can’t recommend the hotel, and I won’t be back!

The cabin is beautiful, with amazing views and lovely hiking trails nearby. A must-see in Norway.
