Sandviken Camping

I was there for two hours to charge the camper and refill water, which cost 100 NOK: 50 for electricity and 50 for water and waste emptying, although I didn’t empty any waste. When I asked if I could pay at reception as I left, the woman was rude and had a real attitude. She said it was up to me if I didn’t use the service, with a 💅🙄, then made a point of saying I should have paid while reception was open. It felt like she was trying to teach me a lesson. Get some vitamin D, lady 💪🏼

A small supermarket with everything you need is just a five-minute drive away, which made exploring easy. Back at the campsite, there’s a fully equipped kitchen, spotless toilets and showers, and a cozy café-style spot with outdoor seating and picnic tables. The setting by the fjord is gorgeous and peaceful. I absolutely loved it, a great place to relax or explore, and I’d highly recommend it.

The site was very busy, and our tent pitch was surrounded by families, so expect plenty of noise and bring earplugs. Even so, it’s beautifully located and well organised. The facilities were cleaned several times a day, and the water was very clean and not too cold. You can pick up basics at reception, including milk, pizza, ice cream and cappuccino. A great place to camp.

The price was very good, and there are plenty of toilets and showers, all kept tidy. The kitchen is clean and fully equipped. Best of all, the view is amazing. Highly recommended if you’re in the area, for example to climb Gaustatoppen.
