Gaustatoppen’s walking trails are nearby, which is great. The area around the house is a bit mixed, since other houses are being built and you have to walk past them. Inside, everything was nice and had what we needed. The sauna was especially lovely while it rained outside, that feeling was the best.

There’s loads of space here. I’m not sure how it works for smaller groups, but for four people it’s great. The living room has a high ceiling, and there’s a dishwasher, fridge, stove, and washing machine. Wi-Fi is good, and there are some TV channels too.

We stayed in one of the amazing houses in summer. The weather wasn’t great, though, and we spent five days with Gaustatoppen hidden in the clouds. You have to drive down each time you want to go somewhere.

There was still rubbish from the previous guests when we arrived, and the place hadn’t been cleaned at all. Despite that, we had a very good stay overall, with a great view.

The rental office was fine for hiring ski gear, but it let us down when we needed help getting our car unstuck from the snow. The woman “forgot” to mention that she hadn’t contacted the tractor we’d asked for.
