Ersfjordbotn Brygge

The apartment was spacious, with two bedrooms, a living area, and a bathroom. The new kitchen was really well equipped, and having a washer was handy, though there was no detergent. We weren’t sure if it could dry clothes too. It’s quiet with a nice fjord view, but still not too far from the city. Several well-known Northern light spots are nearby. We couldn’t see the lights from the terrace because it was too cloudy, though. We really liked the apartment and recommend it if you want to stay outside the city.

It’s a remote area, so buses are infrequent, with none running between 07:00 PM and 05:00 AM. You’ll need to arrange and cook your own food. The owner kindly drove us to the bus stop at Ersfjordbotn skole, then told us to wait in the car to stay warm until the bus came. Conditions were horrible while we were there, so we really appreciated that. We had a wonderful stay in Ersfjordbotn. The clean, spacious unit had a furnished kitchen, heated rooms and living room, and an extra heater. There was also a balcony literally above the Norwegian sea, with lovely views of the sea and mountains. You can see reindeer in the area too.

We had a really good stay and already miss the place. The house feels like home, with lots of room and good furniture, kitchenware, and everything else we needed. The village was welcoming, with everyone greeting us with a smile. We saw our first northern lights there, just a five minute walk from the accommodation. Getting there from Tromsø by bus was no problem for us two backpackers, even from the airport. The nearest grocery or convenience stores are at Eidkjosen, a ten minute bus ride away. Buses aren’t very frequent, so plan ahead.

The reception was wonderful, helpful, kind, and efficient. The apartment itself was cozy and warm, with comfortable furniture and plenty of space. It has what you need, though another skillet and a microwave would make it perfect. The balcony has an amazing view. A great place for Arctic experiences, whether you’re watching the Northern lights from the balcony or setting off on a whale watching tour.
