The Dock 69°39 by Scandic

The buffet downstairs worked out especially well for us in December, when many restaurants were closed, and both breakfast and dinner were worth recommending. We also booked the Dock Spa privately, which was unforgettable, with stunning views. My partner and I were there for four nights to celebrate my birthday, and the staff were friendly and accommodating in a spotless hotel. Everything we needed was walkable, including the bus station for our whale-watching tour, about 13 minutes away with lovely views on the way. The room was compact, but laid out to fit what you need. I’d happily recommend staying here if you want a hotel that has a lot to offer.

We had a pleasant stay while celebrating a birthday. The hotel left us a complimentary little plate of fruit and sweets, which was a lovely surprise. The design is cool, and the reception and rooms feel cozy. The rooftop is great, and the amenities are solid. Breakfast tasted good, though the selection didn’t change much and the pastries could be better. Our room felt small with large luggage, and guests have to pay extra to use the sauna. We forgot to put out the do-not-disturb sign and remembered around 15:30, but housekeeping was no longer available. There’s no bottled water in the room, though there’s a refill station by reception.

The gym was the best one I’ve come across in a hotel, with a clean power rack and pro-grade equipment. The rooms are on the small side, but in Tromsø you’re probably not spending all your time there. Dock6939 felt welcoming from the moment I arrived, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without making me feel rushed. Everything was clean and organized, and the visit ran smoothly. You can tell people take pride in the place. It’s rare to find that mix of quality, professionalism, and good energy. There’s even a friendly cat that drops by the lobby every few days to mingle with guests. I’d recommend Dock6939 and would definitely return.

What began as a rough trip turned around, largely thanks to dock 69 hotel and its staff. Our flights to Tromso were delayed, and our luggage got lost. When we arrived, Fatima at the front desk greeted us with real kindness and concern, and even called local stores to ask whether any were open and sold power converters. Oscar also went above and beyond, helping us figure out how to reach the right airport staff about our bags. I’m sorry if I’ve misspelled either name. The hotel was clean and luxurious, close to major attractions and a short walk from the city center. Breakfast was incredible, housekeeping kept our rooms tidy, and staff members greeted us as we passed. It was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had.
