Clarion Hotel Trondheim

We found it great value, with a lovely location near the city centre. The hotel is beautiful, the service is great, and the food was wonderful. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, and the views were amazing. I’ll definitely come back.

We’ve visited Trondheim a lot and tried several hotels, but this was our best stay by far. The room was beautiful and had a lovely city view, the food was delicious, and breakfast was spectacular. We were welcomed by a really kind receptionist named Sofia. SUPER Koselig!

The sky bar has lovely views over the fjords and the old prison, and it’s a beautiful place for adults to relax. I’ve visited over the years with my family and sisters, while different restaurant owners have run it. On our sister’s day and night out in December 2025, though, we weren’t happy with how little food we got for the prices. Still, the atmosphere, drinks, and music made for a great feeling, and we enjoyed seeing groups of all sizes having a good time. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, in Trondheim’s city centre. Transport is excellent, and it’s near Trondheim sentral train station, the fjords, pirbadet swimmingpool, and Rockheim.

We enjoyed a great breakfast with lots of choices, and the food at NOR on level 9 was tasty too. We had the schnitzels and burger, and both were delicious. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the old town bridge and cathedral, and direct access to the parking garage was convenient. We stayed one night and also appreciated being able to rent umbrellas. Discounted tickets were available for the big pool facility across the street, but we didn’t have time to use them. The bathroom was spacious and had a bathtub. A heated towel rack would’ve been useful for drying our wet clothes.
