Elton Hotel

Our rooms didn’t include breakfast, so we asked what it would cost as an extra. After paying, the total was higher than we’d been told because there was also a credit card charge. They said they hadn’t mentioned it because we were in a hurry, even though it takes literally three seconds to explain an extra fee. When we asked how they would make it right, the answer was that it was already done and changing it would be too much work. No other compensation was offered. When we said we’d write a bad review and that they’d have fewer customers, they replied, “it doesn’t matter.” Added after the hotel’s answer 25.7.2019: I don’t want to give other potential guests the wrong impression. The hotel itself gets 3 or maybe 4 stars from me, since the accommodation was nice for what we paid. But people should consider the tone of the reply below, which is the same kind of attitude you might get at reception. There are little changes to what happened in almost every sentence of the hotel’s response, along with other ways of making my “review” (a description of a situation) sound petty. In more than 1200 nights in hotels in scandinavia, this was the first time I felt like sharing an experience, and also the first time I’d seen nettoprices used at a hotel. Still, some reviews say the service was good too, so take this with a grain of salt!
