Planet Bhaktapur Hotel

The whole Nepal trip my partner and I took in August 2024 was planned and organized with the Planet Hotel team. Our guides and drivers were all from their team, and they were consistently exceptional. At the hotel, we found clean rooms, excellent service, and kind people throughout. I’d recommend booking a few nights at Planet Hotel if you’re visiting Nepal.

Planet Bhaktapur Hotel is in Bhaktapur, the ancient City of Devotion, only a short ride from Kathmandu. It worked well as a base for sightseeing in the capital and surrounding area, and for any trekking you might want to do. When my stay in Nepal changed at short notice, the staff were a big help with the planning, and I’m grateful for that. They have years of experience looking after tourists, and their attentive, friendly care made me want to return. The managers’ love for Nepal comes through in the hotel’s striking displays of local handicrafts. Walking among them made me feel even more drawn to the country and its welcoming people. At La Bella Nepali, the restaurant on site, you can have traditional Nepali food as well as delicious Italian dishes.

I only had a day at Hotel Planet Bhaktapur, but I arrived as a stranger and left feeling like family. The staff were so friendly, and the food was great. You can tell care has gone into all the little details. My room had a balcony overlooking the city, and the rooms were lovely. The large terrace is a nice spot for looking at the stars late at night. I enjoyed the stay so much I’d like to come back on a solo trip. Dr. Yagya Timalsina ( The CEO of the hotel ) kindly gave me a hand drawn map of the city. It helped me see all of it on foot in no time, and he came across as a very humble, down to earth person. My favorite part was the lovely central area of the hotel, where I sat listening to the birds and enjoying the wonderful energy from the wooden sculpture. I hope to return soon.

The staff were kind and helpful, and we had a very nice stay at Planet Bhaktapur hotel. It’s about a 10 minute walk from downtown Bhaktapur, in a quiet, green countryside setting. Our room was comfortable and clean, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent.
