The weekend casino crowd can make the hotel noisy, which bothered me since I prefer a quiet stay. Breakfast also needs more variety. It was the same every day, and after a month that got repetitive. The other meals were generally decent, though their quality seemed to depend on the chef. I especially liked the sizzler, biryani, paneer pakoda, mustang aloo, and thali. I’ve stayed at Big Hotel many times over the years while working in Biratnagar. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff are young, cheerful, polite, and quick to help. When I had to stay elsewhere during one of Big Hotel’s fully booked periods, the small dusty rooms and unfriendly service made me appreciate coming back here. Good hotels are hard to find in the Terai, and to me Big Hotel is still the most dependable choice in the area for comfort and service.

I couldn't sleep all night because the air conditioner made an irritating, vibrator-like noise, and I couldn't get it to work properly. Room maintenance was disappointing too. The tap was turned toward the shower, and I got wet because I hadn't noticed.

The location is convenient and easy to reach, closer to the border than other Biratnagar options. The room was spacious, had a nice feel, and the beds were clean and comfortable. AC worked well, hot water was available, and there was a flat-screen TV, kettle, and telephone. In-room dining was a good experience. Breakfast was average, with few choices and average service, and the restaurant also had limited options. The bathroom amenities were okay, but the commode wasn't very clean. Overall, the rooms and service were satisfactory, though bathroom cleanliness could be better.
