For 800 per room each night, I expected better. The bedsheets hadn’t been changed, the pillows smelled, and the towels had a foul, used smell. There was no soap or shampoo, and mosquitoes were everywhere.

The paneer with paratha thali was the highlight for me: fresh, nicely prepared, and full of flavor. The dining area and the road outside were among the photos I uploaded. I spent one day at Hotel Shah Paradise on a solo overland trip through Nepal, and found it clean, simple, and affordable. It’s on Link Road, Bhanu Chowk, a convenient spot for travellers. The staff were welcoming and quick to help, and I felt comfortable during my short stay. A handy Birganj stopover if you want a budget room and a good meal.
