The view over the Himalayan range was amazing and clear. What made my stay at Shiva Guest House especially touching was the hosts' warmth. When I checked out, they picked fresh oranges from their own garden and gave them to me. The welcoming atmosphere made it feel like staying in my own home. I highly recommend Shiva Guest House if you want a genuinely homely experience.
The location is good, with mountain views, but I wouldn't recommend the stay. We spent two nights at Shiva guest house in November 2025, and had trouble sleeping in the bare-bones room. Cleanliness was only moderate, with hairs in the bed and a so-so bathroom. We couldn't get internet at all because the signal was too weak, and there was no hot water. It wasn't good value for money.
We loved our one night at Shiva Guest House. The room had an unbelievable view, and the host and his family were exceptionally kind. We had dinner at the family resturant, just a two-minute walk from the hosts house, and ate Dal. Recommended!
Such a peaceful place to stay, with a kind family, a great room, and a good location. I’d recommend it 10/10.
The view is great, and the host makes this the best place to stay in Dhulikhel.
