We came back several times during our two months in Nepal, and I'd recommend doing the same. The staff were always helpful, whether we needed advice on trekking or buses, a good-value taxi, or a hand with something at any hour. Breakfast in the garden was delicious and a lovely start to the day. It's a little oasis near Thamel, close enough to walk over for food but away from the chaos. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with big bathrooms and plenty of hot water and toilet paper. There are also several balconies for working or just hanging out.

By the morning after we arrived, L.B Rai had already put together our Annapurna circuit, and we set off the following day. He checked us in when we got to the hostel at 11pm, and we found out he was also a trekking guide. Trekking with L.B was the best experience, and it made our Nepal trip feel really special. He goes above and beyond. If you're planning to trek, definitely ask for LB. - Inez and Char

The garden and all the terraces made it easy to meet travellers from around the world, which was great as a solo traveller. The dorms were clean, had lockers, and there was hot water in the shower. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast every morning was delicious. It's a peaceful spot just outside Thamel, but the busy tourist area is only a two-minute walk away. I liked it so much that I stayed a full week and enjoyed every day. One of my best hostel stays so far. Looking forward to returning!

Back at Elbrus Home in Kathmandu for my second visit, and Kim was lovely again. I first came in 2020 and returned in 2025. The garden is lovely, and the home is clean and well kept. The free breakfast was very welcome, and Kim and the staff are always friendly. Best shower I had in Nepal too, with warm water and great pressure. Thank you so much 🙏
