The staff were kind and always ready to help, and breakfast used fresh local products. Try their lunch and dinner too if you want Nepalese home cooking. This guest house feels comfortable and homelike, with decorated rooms that mix modern and traditional furniture. There was lots of space and natural light, and I loved the windows throughout. You can sit quietly and enjoy the view from the gardens or terraces. The beds were comfortable, the sheets and towels were soft and high quality, and the shower was great with everything you need provided. It's next to the Chinese Embassy, in what felt like Kathmandu's best, quietest, and safest neighborhood. One of the cleanest, best located, and best attended guest houses I've stayed in. Definitely recommend.

Sunil's home gave me a view of Nepal and its people I don't think I could have had at another place. He enjoys hosting and having friends over, and that warmth showed from arrival right through to my farewell. His staff were kind, generous with their time, and incredibly helpful. It felt like an insider's scoop, and staying there was the best introduction to Nepal I could have hoped for. The house is tasteful, locally refined, and well cared for, at the end of a quiet street just off a main road. It's far enough from Thamel to miss the chaos, but close enough to get there easily. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and Bhat Bhateni supermarket is within walking distance. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with crisp bedding, piping hot showers, and delicious meals. Sunil and his staff are excellent cooks! Staying at the Epiphany felt like stepping through a doorway into another culture. It showed me how different a guest house can feel from a hotel. An excellent experience all around, and I hope to return.
