Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha

This is only about Cafe Nagarjun, where I stopped for breakfast, not the resort as a whole. The bright, minimal cafe has a peaceful feel, with lovely scenery outside the dining area. The food tasted great and was fresh, served at a moderate temperature. Staff were attentive, polite, and professional, and their warm welcome made the visit feel pleasant.

The hotel has an excellent view, and there's a famous temple nearby. The pool area is quite good, with something of an infinity pool look, and the food is good, though I wish they'd include local cuisine. The room was fine, but service quality could be better. Getting up the hill to the hotel takes a bit of care because the road is tricky.

The grounds are spacious, beautifully kept, and well managed, from the surroundings to the large halls. The place felt serene and organized. My room was clean, elegant, and comfortable, and the food had both great variety and taste. Service was attentive, friendly, and professional. I had an amazing stay, a perfect five-star experience.

The breakfast buffet was the highlight for us, better than at any other hotel we've stayed in Canada. We were sorry to cut the visit short before leaving for Pohkra. Our room in building number 2 was amazing, and the porter brought our luggage up. All buildings have elevators, and the city view is great on a clear day, though Kathmandu's pollution can get in the way. We especially loved the shower and washroom, which really helped us relax after a night of walking around. Entertainment was great, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The Holiday Inn in Budhanilkantha made for an amazing stay. The road and location can make the trip to the hotel tricky, so tip your driver. A little goes a long way.
