Hotel Blue Diamond sits in the heart of Thamel, close to restaurants, shops, and tour agencies, so it's easy to get around on foot. For the area, which is usually expensive, the rates are affordable. The rooms are clean and spacious, a good fit for budget travellers or backpackers wanting room to spread out. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it's quiet for such a central spot. Wi-Fi is available, though the signal is weak in some rooms. The furniture is dated and could be upgraded, and the bathrooms don't have basic items like handwash, shampoo, or soap. Adding those and refreshing the furniture would make the stay more comfortable. If you're not too picky and want a clean, roomy place at a fair rate in Kathmandu's pricey tourist area, it's a solid choice.

A very nice hotel. It's around 40 years old, but the rooms are good for tourists.

It's cheap, and the rooms are big, though a bit dated and not especially clean or fancy. The rate is 1500 rps per night, and people stay for months at a time. For longer stays, it costs even less.

Very inexpensive place near the heart of thamal Kathmandu. The rooms are clean and nicely painted, but the toilet accessories aren't good and the furniture needs replacing.

The beds were good, but the bathroom flooded when I took a shower. The rooms are good for a low price, pretty much in the centre of kathmandu.
