There was no Ncell signal, and both the Wi-Fi and water supply were unreliable. The rooms felt dark and cramped, and the place was dirty. It didn’t feel healthy to stay here.

The Newari food is the one thing that keeps Lahana popular, and it really is tasty, affordable, and authentic. But on my last visit, flies were everywhere, the toilets and handwashing area were filthy, and there was a bad smell from the kitchen, which looked untidy too. It’s well known with Kirtipur locals and people across the valley, but cleanliness and food hygiene need attention.

Thamel was a lovely base, with the main tourist spots in Kathmandu very close by. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the service was good. A really nice place to stay.
