Mandala Boutique Hotel

My wife found Mandala Boutique Hotel while we were looking online for our first trip to Nepal and Kathmandu. It's tucked into an alley off a quieter road, yet Thamel's busy area is only a minute's walk away, and it stays peaceful right outside the hotel. Karma and the crew were especially kind, helpful, and awesome. The rooms are roomy and pleasant, with fresh surroundings, nice beds, a great bathroom, and daily cleaning and towel changes. Breakfast was generous too: eggs made the way you choose, potatoes, beans, bacon, very good pancakes, toast, mixed fruits, juices, coffee, tea, and more. The hotel also helped guide us with our plans and arrange taxis when we needed them. We'll definitely come back. Namaste!

I've visited Kathmandu for six years, and this was a bad experience. Mr.K, the incharge/manager, talks sweetly but doesn't seem to care about guests. The food upset my stomach five days in a row, and each time he blamed my stomach instead of taking any responsibility. Then, as a final straw, he claimed my booking wasn't for the number of days we had agreed and told me to leave immediately. He could have mentioned this during his sweet talk with me each morning, but didn't. Instead, he called my agent/company. I won't be coming back, and hope this helps other guests and agents.

Our trekking agent Arjun arranged this hotel for us, and it turned out to be a wonderful place in a convenient spot beside Thamel. Karma and the hotel staff were helpful, hospitable, and professional. I'd happily stay again.

We had a medical emergency, and Mr Karma Gurang and Ujjwal went above and beyond to help us. I'm really grateful to them. The ambience was excellent, and all the staff were extremely friendly. This has been my best experience so far, and I really enjoyed our stay.
