Maya Manor Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was a highlight: Purnimar and the kitchen team made delicious, healthy food every morning and really went out of their way for us. The new Cinnamon Gardens coffee place is a tasty addition too. We stayed for two weeks, found the rooms cozy and well equipped, and were welcomed by such friendly staff. I'll definitely be back.

After exploring Kathmandu, resting after a long flight, and finishing the Annapurna Circuit, this felt like exactly the place we needed. The outdoor areas and common spaces were quiet and well kept, and the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast had fresh choices each morning, and the location made it easy to get around while still feeling away from the noise. The staff made the stay especially memorable. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuine, and they went out of their way to help. The Maya Hotel and Manor combines a calm boutique feel with Nepali hospitality, more like a retreat than a hotel. We’d happily stay here again before or after a trek. Highly recommended.

The snacks served during our office meeting were delicious and nicely presented, and the museum on the property was well worth a visit. We found the seminar hall comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and a good fit for our meeting. The boutique atmosphere made the experience more pleasant, and the place was well managed for corporate meetings and small events. Recommended.

We’ve returned to Maya Manor with our Face the Future Foundation team for each of our seven humanitarian surgical missions to Kirtipur Hospital. Our team of 11 has come to think of it as a home away from home. It’s tucked down a quiet alley, yet restaurants and shops are within walking distance. On arrival, “the major” greets visitors with a salute you won’t forget. The staff know us now, and it’s lovely to greet each other warmly on every visit. Reception is pleasant and efficient, while Purnima and the restaurant staff are gracious and accommodating. There’s an extensive menu with tasty Nepalese and Western choices. The newer Cinnamon Garden restaurant feels more modern and cosy, with an appealing menu. The rooms have an old-fashioned feel but are comfortable, with good heating and warm water. The larger suites have plenty of space. The traditional lounge, with its interesting artefacts, is a quiet place to sit. Sushil, the sales manager, has also taken care of our transport and other needs. If you want a comfortable, traditional Nepalese boutique hotel, Maya Manor is hard to beat. We plan to return.
