The restaurant food isn't top-notch, and the outside area around the hotel isn't nice. Still, this old hotel somehow leaves you with good memories. I'd give the rooms and service individually three or four stars, but five to the place overall. Once inside, there's a good reception, sofas to sit on, and an elevator. The rooftop also has a nice view of Thamel.

The warm, welcoming atmosphere made my stay at Hotel Nepalaya really enjoyable. Its location is convenient, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Service was excellent, and I'd highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Nepal.

Basu and his team make you feel at home and do everything they can to meet your needs. The rooftop service for food and drinks is exceptional, and the views are great. 10/10, I'd recommend it to anybody staying in Kathmandu.

The food was delicious 🤤, and the staff were incredibly helpful. We went as a group and had a great time, with plenty of space for a big group. Definitely try the pizza and thukpa. The service was great, and we'd visit again.

A nice, budget-friendly hotel in a great spot in Thamel, near basantpur darbar square. It's not too costly, and I'm from India, so for a foreigner like me it was just right. There's a rooftop restaurant as well.
