A great budget hotel for all kinds of travelers. The staff are very friendly, and breakfast is delicious. The terrace makes it easy to linger, with a mini bar and mini library. There’s also a kitchen next to the rooftop where you can cook your own food or boil tea and eggs.

The owner was really helpful with arranging things to do in Kathmandu and further afield. The hotel is right by the main strip in Thamel, and the bigger rooms with private bathrooms are fairly priced. The bathroom is small, but the hot water is excellent.

Pariwar had everything I needed, including very friendly staff and a great outdoor balcony lounge that was open around the clock. I’d heard some worrying stories about other hotels nearby, like bugs, stains, missing hot water, and no locks. After hearing that, I felt lucky to have picked this place. Probably the best hotel in Thamel.

For a budget stay in the heart of Thamel, it’s good value, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Finding the entrance can be a little tricky: reception is on the second floor and the signs are small.

Rooms are cheap, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The toilets are Western style, but there’s no toilet paper, so bring your own if you need it. You can buy some locally.
