I wouldn't call The Pema Boutique Hotel a five-star place, but for the price it stands out among hotels in Boudha. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and room service comes fairly quickly. The lobby restaurant does a few meals especially well, including its vegan/vegetarian/meat khana sets, all at very reasonable prices. They also rang my mobile device straight away when I left personal items behind. In the Kathmandu valley, plenty of hotels are built to a high standard but managed below the quality of their construction and interiors. Paying more in Nepal doesn't necessarily mean you get more, especially at higher-end hotels. Do your research.

After a 14hr day and a huge trek, checking in was easy and the hotel felt fresh and welcoming. This is the nicest place I've stayed in Nepal across all 4 visits. I spent 5months in Nepal on my latest trip, so I've stayed in quite a few places. The room service was prompt and happy, the food was tasty, and the beer was cold. The hotel was very clean. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable, and hot water was available on demand. Fantastic in every way. Thank you to all the staff.

I've stayed here and like the hotel, so I recommend it. But the meal I want to mention is at its restaurant: get the Veg Thali Set. It's amazing and will blow your mind. Do it.

I was lucky enough to see both sunrise and sunset from my room at this cozy, quiet and peaceful hotel. It's the best place I've stayed in Kathmandu. The food was surprisingly nice, and I wish I'd had a chance to try everything on the menu. When I visit Nepal again, I'll certainly choose Pema Boutique. Thanks to the staff for making my last impression of Kathmandu that much better.

The staff here are so friendly and caring, some of the best I've ever met. The hotel is clean and modern, with a great restaurant inside, and it's one of the few places with AC/Heat that won't shatter your budget. It's only a 2-minute walk to the Boudhanath Stupa, but tucked far enough from the main noise and hubbub. I spend a lot of time in KTM and won't stay anywhere else.
