Swagat Home Stay

We came from Canada and Malaysia, and from the moment we arrived at Swagat Homestay, the four of us felt at home. Mr. and Mrs. Sugat welcomed us with so much warmth that it felt like joining their family. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and carefully prepared. Roshani (Mrs. Sugat) went out of her way to make breakfast early for us. She also took time to chat, and those mornings started with both a delicious meal and real hospitality. Mr. and Mrs. Sugat helped make the whole trip easy and memorable, from suggesting places to visit and arranging transport to helping with late-night food orders. They were always ready to help with a smile. It was more than a place to stay, and we’re grateful for the warmth and care. We’d love to come back one day.

The homemade breakfasts were delicious, and the host lady greeted us with a smile every morning. She chatted with us about Nepali culture and shared useful travel tips. Her kindness made us feel at home. Swagat Home Stay is tucked into a quiet alley in the heart of the city, with shops, food stalls, and everyday necessities a short walk away. It felt peaceful and gave us a more authentic taste of local life than the busy Thamel area, while still keeping us close to what we needed. It’s affordable and full of heart. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

Swagat Home Stay felt like home, and Sugat was a real help with travel around Nepal. He also arranged airport pickup when I needed it. The family, Sugat, Roshani, and their daughter, were friendly and treated guests like part of their household. It’s in the peaceful Gujeshwori/Maitidevi neighborhood on Maiti Devi Marg, about a 10-minute drive from Tribhuvan International Airport. Public transport and local shops are walkable, and the area felt safe and serene, though it’s a little outside Thamel’s tourist center. The rooms are clean and cozy, with hot showers, comfortable beds, balconies, and free Wi-Fi. There’s a shared kitchen and a rooftop terrace with a garden view, quiet spots to relax or have a simple breakfast. I had a lovely stay at this intimate homestay.
