The garden was a highlight, spacious, green, and beautifully looked after, especially rare so close to the city. The Malla Hotel is near Thamel Market, yet felt peaceful. We spent 5 days there, and the rooms were lovely, newly renovated while keeping the hotel’s old heritage charm. Breakfast was great. Sulabh at the counter remembered how we liked our eggs and made us feel looked after. Housekeeping was warm and consistently excellent too, especially Abiraj and Chandra Laxmi. Karma at reception was thoughtful and professional. When another group had a loud party in the garden, he got the music turned down quickly. He also offered us a room in a quieter part of the hotel in case it carried on past 11 pm. Beautiful atmosphere, comfortable rooms, good food, gardens, and wonderful staff. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

We stayed here on our last few days in Kathmandu, and it was the fourth hotel we tried in Nepal. We ranked it fourth, behind The Lemontree, Serangkot Mountain Lodge and Bar Peepal Pokhara. The location and service were good, but the rooms felt old and low tech. Breakfast wasn't our best, and having to pay for coffee didn't sit well with us.

With easy access to Thamel, Durbar Marg, shops, and major attractions, The Malla Hotel is a convenient base in central Kathmandu. It still has a calm atmosphere despite the busy surroundings, and the garden and outdoor seating are especially relaxing in the evening. The rooms are spacious, clean, and maintained well, with comfortable beds and useful modern amenities. Housekeeping is regular, and the staff are polite and ready to help. Dining covers Nepali, Indian, and international food, and the breakfast buffet has a decent selection of fresh dishes. There’s also a pool, fitness center, spa, and banquet halls for leisure, meetings, and events. Security and service are well managed. It’s a dependable place for short or longer stays, with friendly service and good value.

Three of my wedding events were held at The Malla Hotel, so it means a lot to me. Every time I come back, I remember those happy moments. The staff are welcoming, everything runs smoothly, and the ambiance is beautiful. The food is the best, too. Truly one of Nepal’s finest places!

Dining at The Malla Hotel was a wonderful experience. The setting is elegant and comfortable, the service was excellent, and each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. It all felt up to true 5-star standards. A must-visit for food lovers, highly recommended!
