The Samrat Palace

At first, I was stressed and frustrated. The hotel had no electricity, the AC wasn’t working, there were no fans, and everything seemed shut down. It was late, I had an early flight the next day, and Kathmandu was still unfamiliar to me as someone from India. When I raised the issue at reception, the reply felt rude and dismissive, which made things worse. Later, a man named Mr. Dinesh called. I’m still not sure whether he’s a manager, supervisor, or something else, but he handled the situation so differently that it changed how I felt about the hotel. He stayed calm and professional, looked for solutions right away, offered to arrange another hotel where things were working, organized transport, and was even ready to come by in person late at night to help. That kind of dedication is rare. Just as I was about to check out and get my refund, the power came back, in a funny twist of fate. Maybe even God wanted me to stay! 😄 Mr. Dinesh kept checking on me after that and helped however he could. I met him the next day, and he was just as humble, polite, genuine, and professional face to face. It may be a 3-star hotel, but because of him I felt like I got 5-star service. Problems can happen anywhere; the people are what make the difference, and Mr. Dinesh certainly did. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality.
