Varnabas Museum Hotel

We had a really relaxing stay, and the location was perfect, right in town and near everything. Our room was spotless, beautifully furnished, and came with great amenities. The staff were incredibly attentive and did so much to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend.

We’ll never forget our stay at Varnabas Museum Hotel, and if we return to Kathmandu, we’ll head straight back to the Varbanas. The pool on the top floor was comfortable and really nice, and the welcome we received felt especially warm. The rooms were great, the food unforgettable, and the service excellent. I’ve been digitally nomadic for 4 years, and this is one of my best hotel stays in a long time. The location is perfect and quiet, beside a beautiful yoga center, and the services were amazing. The food was great, too. The staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating. They surprised me with a birthday cake and went beyond the usual hotel service to make the day special. I’ll be back for two nights next week after trekking. They’re keeping my luggage here and arranged an airport driver at no extra cost. Thank you!

I’m here with a friend for three days and two nights, and on just my second day I already can’t stop praising the hotel. I’ve visited Kathmandu many times over the past years, but only recently heard about Varnabus Museum Hotel (VMH). I got curious after staying at another hotel overseas that belongs to the group "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" and checking whether Nepal had one. VMH is the only hotel in Nepal in that group. It’s a 48-room boutique hotel with eight rooms per floor, so it feels fairly private. The care in the room details is clear: plenty of outlets, good lighting, lots of pillows, tissues in both the bathroom and bedroom, and a shower that keeps a steady temperature without leaking water outside. The room was so clean and tidy that even the mirror was spotless. So far, everything from check-in to dining and the room setup has been exquisite. The staff are friendly, and the service is attentive without being showy. The food was outstanding, and surprisingly good. It’s a real gem, and more travelers should know about it. My friend and I are sure to enjoy the rest of our stay.
