Hiranya Guest House

I messaged the owner directly on WhatsApp and stayed two nights for USD $16 per night. It's set on a quiet alley, close to tourist spots like Golden temple, Durbar Square, restaurants, cafes, and a mall. The classic Newari-style building has a clean, modern Western bathroom with hot water, a Western toilet, and a bidet. Free WiFi is there, though I found it a bit slow. There's a restaurant/cafe downstairs.

The building is beautifully restored and full of character, with vintage details that set it apart. The rooms are spacious and each has its own touches, with antique furnishings, comfortable beds, and modern amenities. Staff are friendly and accommodating, know the area well, and are happy to recommend places or arrange reservations. Breakfast is included in the room rate, with a tasty range of fresh options, from eggs and bacon to pastries and fruit. The Heritage Guest House is a charming historic place to stay, and a great base for relaxing and exploring the area.

The cafe downstairs was a real treat, I had the best momos in all of Lalitpur there! The staff are wonderful and always there when you have a question. It's a cozy place in a beautiful, very old family building, with comfortable rooms, wide beds, and clean bathrooms. I'd absolutely recommend it. 🩶

Hiranya guesthouse is clean and well maintained, and Dibya is a great host. It's on a heritage street in Patan, close to everything but quiet at night. I preferred staying in this area over crowded Thamel. Definitely recommend it if you're in Kathmandu. Thank you, Hiranya guesthouse.
