Hotel BnB Mhepi

We had two rooms for four nights and found them comfortable, with modern rooms and amenities. The bathrooms were on the small side, but very clean, and the shower had unlimited hot water, which matters most to me. The restaurant food was a real highlight, even after trying food around Kathmandu. There’s a garden with a Rudraksha tree where you can relax or eat, and room dining is also available. The staff and management were very hospitable. They arranged a sightseeing taxi and a drop-off at the bus stop, which helped a lot on my first trip to Nepal. The hotel sits away from the noisy market but is still only a 10-minute walk from Thamel. We paid a great price for all of this.

Mr. Mani, the manager, was especially courteous and always willing to help with whatever we needed. The rest of the hotel staff were courteous too, and the food was good. Our two-room family stay was generally good, and the rooms were neat and clean. The main drawback was the bathrooms, which were very small and cramped. On the first day, the flush water was quite dirty. Staff said the tank was being cleaned, and the water cleared the following day. The hotel is down a narrow lane, so be careful driving through if you have your own vehicle. Mine ended up with a few small scratches. The complimentary continental breakfast was limited to bread and butter, eggs made to choice, and sautéed potato and tomato. That could be improved.

The food was pretty awesome, and the hotel itself was good. Rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There just wasn’t anywhere to hang clothes in the washroom.

I liked the location because you can get to city life with just a 10-minute walk, but the neighbourhood itself is peaceful enough for a good night's sleep. The hospitality was polite and on time, and the cleanliness was so good that I don’t think you’d find it elsewhere in ktm.
