The food was a real highlight at The Square Hotel, Jawalakhel. I especially loved the Lukla Aalu, and I’m pretty sure I’ll miss it long after checking out. Even the late-night menu had good choices, which helped when travel plans ran late. The staff, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant and room service, were warm, polite, and attentive in a way that felt sincere. Comfort matters a lot to me because I have medical needs, including a pre-existing back issue. The mattress didn’t feel especially plush at first, but after a night on it my back felt better than it had in days, which surprised me. I tried both the King Double and the Suite, and liked the automated controls for the lights, curtains, and room settings. The shower and bidet had excellent water pressure. I’m particular about toiletries and usually bring my own, but the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the room were genuinely good enough that I didn’t need to. I enjoy trying different hotels when I travel, and this stay was a delight. The team went beyond meeting my needs and made sure I was comfortable. Thoughtful comforts, lovely service, and a stay I really enjoyed. Awesome job, team!

The rooftop restaurant had a pretty view of the surroundings, and the service was fantastic for our whole stay. We spent more than a week at this modern hotel and would definitely recommend it to friends coming to Kathmandu. The rooms were bright, with separate toilet and shower areas, and had smart room controls and Netflix. At the breakfast buffet, the coffee was better than at most cafes we’ve visited.

I was there for a multi-stakeholder programme organized by UNIDO, and didn’t use the rooms or other facilities. The meeting hall was comfortable and had the basic facilities we needed. The basement parking was well managed and hassle-free, with a lift that went straight to the entrance of Simrik hall. The washrooms were clean, meals and refreshments were just about perfect, and the service was excellent. The location was ideal. A nice experience overall.

Guests should not be put at risk like this. I urge people to stay away. If you care about your life and your loved ones’ well-being, don’t stay here. The hotel should be held accountable and barred from operating until it ensures proper safety measures and takes responsibility. Think twice before trusting this place with your stay.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and really liked how they treated us. The service-minded staff were so good to us. Our room was clean, and there are lots of little coffee shops and good places to eat in the area.
