The Fort Resort

We booked on the day and got a mountain view room, and it changed my brain chemistry. Everything was amazing, from the atmosphere and food to the rooms and staff. They’re so friendly and kind, and treated us really well as foreigners. This was easily one of my favorite hotel stays ever. If you get the chance, you absolutely must stay here. If I could live here, I would. This hotel deserves the world!

Our cottage was spotless and beautiful, with authentic design inside and out. It had a fireplace we enjoyed lighting in the evenings. The grounds are full of flowers, shrubs, and trees, and trails wind from the main building to the cottages. From the rooftop, the Himalayan views are stunning. The cuisine was excellent, with a good variety of delicious dishes. The staff were warm and attentive, and sorted out any issues quickly. We’re deeply grateful to the whole hotel team for their great work. Thank you.

I rarely leave reviews, but I had to for this stay. I spent five days here and didn’t regret a single one. It’s a quiet place for relaxing: you can hike or walk, or just sit and take in the atmosphere. The architecture is fantastic, and you could spend hours wandering around the property and taking photos. Greenery and birdsong are all around, along with plenty of fresh air. The views are absolutely stunning. The staff were beyond praise, focused on guests and willing to help with anything. Ask them a question, and they’ll do their best to assist. As someone else mentioned, there’s no professional coffee machine. The Wi-Fi is very poor, though you may have come to unplug anyway. I highly recommend it for a peaceful, meditative, contemplative retreat.

The building has the feel of a real fort, which gives the place an interesting vibe. Service is among the best, though maybe all Nepal people are like these guys! The rooftop is a great spot for sunrise, and there are beautiful viewpoints nearby. Recommend it to everyone!
