We spent 5 days at Hotel Fire On The Mountain and had a comfortable stay. It’s a solid budget option: the rooms are plain, but decent for the price and comfortable enough whether you’re staying briefly or longer. Having hot water in the washroom was especially useful.

After hiking in the mountains or spending a day around Pokhara, you need somewhere safe, clean, and comfortable to rest. Fire on the mountain hotel felt like home to us. El capitan and his family are generous and kind, know a lot, and are glad to answer questions or help out. I’m looking forward to staying again soon. Colin London

The location is handy, close to the lake, and the rooms are fair for a budget place. They do need quite a bit of maintenance, though. I’d suggest it for people focused on keeping costs down who aren’t too concerned about their accommodation.

The host was friendly and even arranged a BBQ when we asked, then joined in to celebrate my birthday with us. We had loads of fun. Highly recommend.
